“Print 2000” at the New Harmony Gallery of Contemporary Art

If you’ve ever wanted to purchase the works of Indiana artists but felt you couldn’t afford to, “Print 2000” in New Harmony will be just what you’ve been hoping for. The exhibit will run from October 7th through November 11th, and will feature the works of over 45 artists as well as musical entertainment in the 2,000 square foot gallery.

New Harmony Gallery of Contemporary Art presents “Print 2000,” an exhibition and sale of limited edition contemporary prints. All prints will be $10 and proceeds will benefit New Harmony Gallery. A preview party for the exhibition will take place on Friday, October 6 from 6-8pm. This event will also feature live music and hors d’oeuvres.

New Harmony Gallery has invited over 45 artists to make prints for this special exhibition and sale, using a variety of printmaking techniques including lithography, etching, calligraphy, and silkscreen. Each artist has made a limited edition of 25 prints, which will be on sale at the Gallery during the run of the show. For the show, one print from each edition will be framed and presented in the gallery’s main exhibition space. Due to the incredibly reasonable price of $10 per print and anticipated demand, all prints will be available on a first-come/first-serve basis only, beginning with the preview party on October 6 and ending with the closing reception on November 11.

As an extra incentive, the first three people to buy one print from each of the exhibiting artists will receive their choice of the following: a Winter Get-away package from the Red Geranium Enterprises including dinner for two at the Red Geranium Restaurant and a nights stay at the New Harmony Inn; two season passes for New Harmony Theater; or a weekend stay at Good Rest Bed and Breakfast in New Harmony.

In addition, New Harmony Gallery will also be presenting the Eric Cure Trio, who will be performing at the Gallery as part of the preview party on October 6 from 6-9pm. The Trio consists of Eric Cure on guitar, Renato Butturi on flute and guitar, and John Hubert on bass. The Trio will perform improvisation-based interpretations of contemporary selections and jazz classics.
