Hancock County, Indiana

Situated just east of Indianapolis, with I-70 and US 40 (the historic National Road), running through it, Hancock County is a lively, growing community that still has the aura of Small-town America. It is one of the fastest growing counties in Indiana because of the attraction of the rural feel so close to the cultural advantages of a metropolitan area.

The county seat of Greenfield has become well known for its antique stores and its collection of gracious Victorian homes. Many of the homes have been lovingly restored to their former glory in the days of the "Gas Boom", which fostered great commercial, and hence residential, growth in the era during the late 19th and early 20th centuries. As Riley wrote, Greenfield - and Hancock County - is a good place to call "My home and your home and your parents home and the best home outside of heaven."
