Lincoln Boyhood National Memorial - (812) 937-4541. This splendid National Park is the site where Abraham Lincoln grew up. Learn about the lives of Abraham Lincoln and his family, who lived here in a pioneer community from 1816 to 1830.

Lincoln Amphitheater - (800) 264-4223. Enjoy "Young Abe Lincoln" musical outdoor drama while you experience the same beauty that surrounded Abraham Lincoln as he grew to manhood in Southern Indiana. Through the deaths of his mother and sister and his first brush with slavery, you'll see how Abraham's youth in Indiana helped make him one of our nation's greatest Presidents. Located in Lincoln State Park on Highway 162 in Lincoln City.

Lincoln Pioneer Village & Museum - (812) 649-4215 or contact Old Rockport, Incorporated at (812) 649-2615. The Lincoln Pioneer Village Museum houses hundreds of fascinating artifacts from the area's historic past including a hutch made by Abraham Lincoln's father, Thomas. Located next to the museum is the historic Lincoln Pioneer Village, consisting of cabins that are replicas from the Lincoln era in Spencer County. This site was originally a W.P.A. project. The cabins may be seen by appointment. Located in Rockport City Park, at the west end of Main Street in Rockport.

Motorhead Park, Inc. - (812) 362-8508. R.R. 1, Box 354, Evanston, Indiana 47531. Christopher & Cathy Still proprietors. Motorhead Park, Inc. to include BMX track, motocross, flat track racing, go cart racing and camping. Located on County Road 600E, just 1 mile north off Highway 70 in Newtonville, Indiana.

Colonel William Jones State Historic Site - (812) 937-2802. This carefully restored 1834 Federal-design home of the merchant employer of Abraham Lincoln offers a unique look at the early development of Indiana and the life of Colonel William Jones, who was also a politician. The home includes guided tours, themed talks, exhibits and gifts. This State Historic Site is situated on 100 acres of forest, and also offers a self-guiding nature trail, picnic area and a restored log barn. Located one mile west of US 231 on Boone Street in Gentryville.

Saint Meinrad Archabbey and Abbey Press - (812) 357-6585, (800) 581-6905. Saint Meinrad Archabbey offers a peaceful and spiritual retreat with beautiful grounds and the opportunity for prayer with Benedictine monks. Founded in 1854, Saint Meinrad is one of only two archabbeys in the United States; one of seven in the world. The monks operate a graduate-level School of Theology, which offers programs in priesthood formation and in lay leadership for the Roman Catholic Church, as well as an extensive Continuing Education program. 'Guided tours are available on Saturdays from March to November at 1:30 p.m. local time. Self-guided and audio cassette guided tours are available year-round. Tours for groups by reservation only. Abbey Press, an international marketer of religious and inspirational books, cards and gifts, operates a gift shop that is open daily. Located on Highways 62 and 545 in St. Meinrad.

The entire family will enjoy the parks' large assortment of rides, water attractions, live shows and entertainment, shopping and food - plus visits with Santa Claus. For the more adventuresome, there are thrill rides including The Rave, voted the nation's #2 wooden Roller Coaster in 1998. Holiday World & Splashin' Safari were voted the "Nations Friendliest" in 1998. Located at the junction of Highways 162 and 245 in Santa Claus.

Dr. Ted's Musical Marvels - (812) 937-4250. Don't miss taking a guided tour of this magnificent collection of restored mechanical musical instruments, including nickelodeons, orchestrions, music boxes and street organs. Take a trip back in time as you listen to the magical music produced by these amazing instruments. Also features a gift shop. Group tours are available by appointment. Located on US 231 just north of I-64 in Dale.

Fun Island - (812) 937-2020. Take on the exciting challenge of the giant Megamaze, the Midwest's first world-class maze adventure for all ages. Fun Island's exciting activities also include 18-hole miniature golf and water wars. Located at the junction of I-64 and US 231 in Dale.

Santa Claus Post Office - (812) 937-4469. The Santa Claus Post Office is the only post office in the world with the Santa Claus name. Stop by to receive the famous Santa Claus postmark during the Christmas Season and see where thousands of children's letters to Santa are received each year. Located on Highway 162 in Santa Claus.

Ohio River Scenic Route - (800) 489-4474. Scenic Route Highway 66 stretches through the southern portion of Spencer County following the beautiful Ohio River through river towns, colorful wooded areas and vast farmlands. Experience the splendor of the seasons and views of the Ohio while traveling along this scenic byway. Some of Spencer County's more splendid Ohio River views can be experienced at Lincoln's Landing and the Bluff area in Rockport and at Grandview and French Island.

Holiday Drive-In Movie Theater - (812) 649-2857. Take in the latest movies at one of the few drive-in theaters left for all generations to enjoy. Watch from your car or bring a lawn chair and enjoy watching your favorite new releases while enjoying the summer night air and stars. Includes five screens and a snack bar. Located on US 231 in Reo.

Ramey Riding Stables - (812) 649-9579, (502) 771-5590. Horse lovers will want to get away to these stables and indoor arena where boarding, riding lessons, and leisurely trail rides are available. Located next to Trail's End Bed & Breakfast on Highway 45, three miles west of Rockport and one mile east of US 231.
