Wylie House - 317 East Second Street. (812) 855-6224. Built in 1835 as the home of Andrew Wylie, first president of IU, this stately brick house is on the National Register of Historic Places and is now a museum recreating the early Wylie home.

Elegant Options - 403 North Walnut, Bloomington. (812) 332-5662. The daughter of IU's first president, Andrew Wylie, lived here with her family. It is the only surviving example of brick Italianate architecture and was built in 1845. Also an antique gallery, Elegant Options offers vintage silver, quality European pieces and restored vintage lighting.
